What we do
Six programme areas, one goal: households that feed themselves, earn a living and withstand the dry years.
- Kitchen gardens and nutrition Climate-smart garden models that put vegetables on the table all year, even where land and water are scarce.
- Organic farming and farm-made inputs Biopesticides, biofertilisers, bokashi compost and liquid fertilisers that restore tired soils.
- Market linkages and value addition Connecting smallholders to better-paying markets through grading, packaging, branding and aggregation.
- Natural resource management Water harvesting, drip irrigation, cover crops and agroforestry built on four principles: healthy ecosystems, secure resources, resilient livelihoods, empowered communities.
- Climate resilience and early warning Early warning messages, communication trees and practical steps that help farmers prepare for floods and heavy rain.
- Poultry as a rural enterprise Eggs, birds and manure: poultry gives quick returns, better nutrition and a business that fits small farms.
