Community early warning: how the message reaches everyone

A warning that stops at one phone saves one farm. Our communication trees carry alerts to neighbours without smartphones.

Follow official Kenya Meteorological Department and county government alerts. SACEP Kenya messages support, and do not replace, official warnings.

Early warning only works when the last person in the chain hears it in time to act.

SACEP Kenya works with village communication trees: a small number of agreed contacts in each area receive the alert, then pass it on by phone, visit, church and school networks to neighbours — including those without smartphones or reliable signal.

If you are a community contact, three things matter: pass the message quickly, keep it accurate, and confirm it reached everyone — especially elderly neighbours and households far from the road.

To join the alert list or serve as a community contact, sign up on our farmer alerts page or WhatsApp us directly.
