Regenerative and agroecological agriculture
Regenerative agriculture treats the farm as a living system: healthy soil grows healthy plants, healthy plants feed healthy people, and healthy people care for the land. SACEP Kenya trains farmers in practices that rebuild soil while still producing a crop this season.
What we do
- Cover cropping so soil is never left bare to sun, wind and rain
- Minimal tillage that keeps soil structure and soil life intact
- Composting and manure management that feed the soil, not just the crop
- Agroforestry for shade, fodder, nutrients and income
- Responsible water management: harvesting, infiltration and efficient use
These are not new ideas — they are disciplined versions of what careful farmers have always done, applied together and consistently. The regenerative cycle starts below ground: feed the soil, and the soil feeds everything else.
We introduce practices step by step on demo plots so farmers can compare results with their usual methods before committing a whole field.
Who we work with
- Smallholders rebuilding degraded plots
- Demo-plot and lead farmers
- Groups transitioning toward organic markets
