Farmer-friendly policy and governance

Household and community gains hold only when policy and governance support them. This pillar of SACEP Kenya's theory of change focuses on raising farmer priorities with county structures and supporting good local governance of land, water and markets.

What we do

  • Carrying farmer priorities from community meetings to county forums
  • Supporting public participation so rural voices shape county plans and budgets
  • Backing community governance of shared resources such as water points and grazing land
  • Working with county departments on agriculture and environment priorities

We describe only what SACEP Kenya actually does: convening, listening and carrying community positions into the rooms where decisions are made. We do not lobby on behalf of any party or candidate.

Who we work with

  • Community representatives and farmer leaders
  • County agriculture and environment departments
  • Ward-level administrators and committees
